FAQ

  • What is the alcohol policy?
    It is required that the bartenders must be licensed to serve alcohol and carry state required insurance. Alcohol, wine, beer, seltzers etc. are permitted. Professionals in charge of the bar are required to stop service to any individual they feel is necessary.
  • How do I reserve a date?
    A "Save the Date" deposit of $500 is required to hold the date for your event. This amount is non-refundable. It will then become your security deposit for your event once a contract is signed and 50% of the venue fee is paid.
  • What happens if it rains or there is poor weather?
    DHE is primarily an outdoor venue. We can provide seating under our two covered patios, and the main floor of the DHE home is available to your guests in the event of rain. Covered patio areas can accommodate up to 60 seated guests; additional seating is in uncovered patio areas. If a tent or awning is rented by the client, it will need to be planned and approved a minimum of 48 hours prior to the event. (DHE has tents available for rent upon request).
  • Who handles the clean up?
    The client and/or their vendors are responsible for cleaning up their respective equipment, materials, and decor. Items need to be removed from the property at the conclusion of the event unless otherwise arranged with DHE. DHE will be responsible for tables, chairs, linens, and any other equipment belonging to the venue.
  • When are payments due?
    A signed contract and 50% venue site fee are due no later than 30 days from the date of the "Save the Date" deposit. The initial 50% venue fee and $350 service fee are non-refundable. The remaining balance is due no later than 45 days prior to the event. At this point, all payments are final and non-refundable.
  • Is there a noise ordinance?
    The city of Cave Creek has a noise ordinance that requires all outdoor events with amplified music to end at 10:00pm.
  • Can I choose my own vendors?
    We are happy to work together with you to approve the vendors you have chosen for your special day. Vendors must meet all insurance and licensing requirements. We would strongly recommend you take a moment to review the preferred vendors list provided below. These vendors come highly recommended; we have experience working with these vendors and are confident they will provide you with an excellent experience.
  • Do you have rental equipment available?
    Yes, we have an extensive list of package add-ons. Not only is it possible to purchase additional hours for your event, but a large variety of rental items and decor are available, if needed. We would be happy to provide you with a detailed list of on-site rental options and pricing.
